Looking for a quick and easy escape from Austin? We checked out Jellystone- Hill Country and I have a few tips and tricks to make sure you have the best time ever!
Our Snug Cabin Hideaway
We decided to snag one of their adorable cabins, and oh my goodness, it was just perfect. Think all the cozy comforts you love at home (hello, comfy beds and that sweet, sweet AC!) all snuggled up in a cute, woodsy setting. It was such a treat to have our own little haven to chill in after a day of fun. The cabin had a queen bed and a set of twin bunk beds as well as a full bathroom and a hidden closet to stash all your stuff. The front porch was rather large and that’s where my husband and I could hang out after the kids went to bed. All of their cozy cabins also come with a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, one burner stove and a sink area to wash off dishes. We decided to bring some quick premade breakfasts so we can have some slowER mornings.
Since the park rents golf carts, we decided this would be the easiest way to get around for the weekend and it ended up being the thing the kids loved most. They LOVED the novelty of just riding around the park over and over. It was majorly convenient to be able to get around the park easily.
Non Stop Fun for the Whole Family
The best part about Jellystone is that there are so many options for water fun. The first (and most popular) was their “water playground” outfitted a soft cushy bottom and about 6 inches of water. 2 larger slides, multiple climbing opportunities, splash zone and smaller slides. This part was Dino themes and it was adorable. Since the larger slides are family friendly, even my 3 year old could ride them. Across the pool deck as a pool for smaller toddlers and babies, also with the cushion bottom with a few sprinklers and a small Dino slide. We can’t forget about the 2 larger outdoor pools Ella loved to show off her swim skills and flips. Once you’re tired of swimming outside, bounce across the way to the indoor pool and hot tub.
Their onsite restaurant has an ordering window from the pool deck so it’s easy to grab lunch there and stay a while. We opted to bring a few PB&Js from home and try to save a little money there but the kids really enjoyed the ice cream!
Plenty of Non Water Entertainment Options!
Since the water playground doesn’t open until 11am (and we have early 7am risers), we decided to check out all of the other activities at the campground! We found out Ella was surprisingly good at mini golf for never having played! We also checked out their two playgrounds, crafts, arcade, pedal carts and many, many activities the campground hosts.
