I am so excited to introduce you to a new business; Sparkle Hair ATX! The owner, Cassandra, specializes in bringing the little “pizazz”! She does individual bookings, parties, events, and everything in between.

Thanks so much for having me, Alison! Hello everyone! My name is Cassandra Louden, I am married to my wonderful husband Tim who is my best friend and biggest support. We live in Central Austin with our sweet mini-labradoodle Charlie! My husband Tim has been in ATX since 1996 and I came here after teaching abroad in 2016. Tim and I love going out on the lake, hanging out with our friends, being out and about and working hard. I am originally from California and grew up in Orange County. I have my masters degree in teaching and was a school teacher in central america for about 7 years. I taught in Costa Rica and Guatemala. When I moved back to the United States I decided not to go back into teaching. Last year I started working from home and would find that I was really missing my connection with others. I really wanted to find a way to work around kiddos and adults again and bring joy to others’ lives, so I started sparkle hair ATX to give me back some of that fun I was missing from a job.
Tell us a little more about your business, Sparkle Hair ATX!
My business is called Sparkle Hair ATX. I do sparkle hair for everyone and anyone! It all started this year actually and has taken off! I was originally getting my sparkle hair done by a sweet friend of mine and every time I would go in public I would constantly get asked about the special little sparkles in my hair. Sparkle hair is essential tiny strands of tinsel that get tied into your hair! I would get asked so much so that I decided to take a class to learn the skill and bring it to others. I bring sparkle hair pop-ups to birthday parties, bachelorette parties, private events, corporate events, festivals, cheer gyms, school dances…you name it and we can bring the sparkle pop-up! We are different because we do not use any chemicals, glue or clamps to get the sparkle in your hair. We simply tie one sparkle strand onto one strand of your own hair using a special knot. The sparkle hair will shed when your natural hair sheds. Some sparkles can last weeks, some fall out within a few days and some even last months. That’s the sparkle magic behind it all! The best part is that sparkle hair can be washed, curled, blow dried and it can even withstand foils at the salon! I can attest to it! We LOVE sparkle parties and it’s really our specialty, but we also do individual bookings. My favorite part about giving someone a sparkle hair service is the way they feel once they leave my chair! Doesn’t matter the age or gender, everyone who gets sparkled is SO excited and happy! I have even done BARKles, which is sparkle strands for your PUP! hehe
Where do you see your business in the next 5 years?
My plan is to have a sparkle girl fleet spreading sparkle love across ATX and doing multiple events throughout the week. I have really big dreams for this small business of mine!

Tim and I are on a bowling league! It is so much fun. I love to stay active and be active in our community. Who knew bowling could be so much fun!!!
What do you love about having a business in Austin?
Austin is such a fun town with so many wonderful people and SO much to do so the sparkle hair opportunities are really endless for me. Since I opened Sparkle hair ATX has really taken off and I feel blessed to work in this amazing city I call home.

Something interesting about yourself/something that others may not know about you:
I have traveled to 38 counties and can speak spanish pretty well! I am also a first generation American, my mother is from Romanian and my father is from Germany! My oldest brother lives in London and my younger brother lives in Costa Rica with his wife Becky. They own a Sloth Sanctuary on the Caribbean side! I know, it’s WILD! 🙂 Even though my family is spread out, we are all SO close and nothing is more important to me than family.
