My husband and I met for a quick lunch date today at the new Austin Java location on Manchaca. In spite of the rainy day it was light and bright inside with a cheerful modern vibe. There are tables for enjoying a sit down meal with the family, but also some low comfortable seating for working on your laptop or meeting a friend for a cup of coffee or tea.
I didn’t let our server finish telling me my coffee flavor options because I knew what I wanted when he listed the first one. I ordered coffee as a precursor to my meal, not because I need more caffeine but because they tempted me with two of my favorites: Texas and Pecans! It did not disappoint.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal! Grilled fish tacos with a side of elote (off the cob) and chips and salsa for me, Avocado Toast and Spicy African Peanut Soup (a repeat favorite) for the hubs.
The music is an eclectic mix of popular songs from the 80s to today, so I was singing along and dancing in my seat between bites and conversation. The staff were attentive from the front door to the management and with a $5 menu for the kids we will be back with the whole family soon! Thanks, Austin Java for coming to our neck of the woods!
