Honestly this is number 1 on my list. If there’s one thing at the top of my packing list, always in my bag, ready for innumerable uses it is Lavender Essential Oil.
I also love love love Plant Therapy oils. They are 100% pure therapeutic grade oils that I can feel confident using on my children (always check if an oil is safe to use on kids and babies and follow instructions!). Plant Therapy also uses some of their profits to build wells in Uganda. Uganda is the birthplace of my children and my 2nd home so I personally feel great about that! Plant Therapy also has some of the most stringent standards in the essential oils industry.
Why do I always have Lavender on hand? Because there is something to use it for daily! It all started with a baby born with attachment disorder… I wore lavender to sooth him, and put lavender on his blanket to help him sleep. Then another baby came along and I used Lavender in a perineal wash for myself and on the baby to aid healing and ward of infection of her umbilical stump. We’ve used it to avoid antibiotics for ear infections. I’ve seen it clear up an abscess in days and even experienced incredible results on a poisonous spider bite site. It relaxes before bath time mixed with Epsom salts and promotes sleep when diffused at bedtime. When mixed with other oils it helps to combat airborne illnesses or sooth a sore throat. Every wound gets a little lavender applied before a band aid, and believe me with 4 kids band aids get used up like they’re going out of style! For myself I use a blend of lavender and frankincense in a carrier oil as a daily moisturizer for their anti-inflammatory and anti-aging benefits.
I could go on an on, and maybe I will in another Friday Faves post. Lavender is my fave of all faves. Here’s a link for $10 off your first Plant Therapy purchase!
P.S. I am not a medical professional so you should never take my advice over seeking the help of your doctor… especially when it comes to your babies!
