Texas Book Festival
The Texas Book Festival is a really awesome event that’s right here in our backyard! It is a free event thats open to all and they boast that they are bringing in over 300 authors that span all ages and genres. Plenty of food trucks will also be on site along Congress Ave between 8th and 9th St! There will also be plenty of story time opportunities with your favorite authors as well as a Children’s Activity Tent with plenty of make and take crafts to keep kiddos busy! Personally, its a “must do” event for this time of year. So fun!!

Creek Show 2023
This is Waterloo Greenway’s 9th year to host this awesome art instillation. The FREE show will be open for 9 nights and you’ll see 6 new light installations with different themes related to Waller Creek from history to hydrology. There are so many family friendly parts to this event including live music, food and beverages (for purchase) and many other activities!

Fortlandia
The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center hosts an exclusive event called “Fortlandia“. This year there are 9 “forts” spread out across a 2 mile trail at the wildflower center. All of these forts are meant to be enjoyed by children and “children at heart” of all ages. The path is not always paved so if you are bringing your stroller, a jogging stroller is recommended because there are some places where there is uneven terrain. Members are free as well as children under 4. Adults are $15. See prices here!.

Coco Live
The Long Center is hosting an exclusive event- Coco Live-to-film Concert! There will be a screening of the movie plus an orchestra made up of a variety of musicians and styles. Plenty of opportunities for your Coco obsesed kiddo to enjoy their favorite movie with live music!
